Albert Pooch

Albert John Pooch, age 93, died November 18, 2007 at the Grove Nursing Center in Grove, Oklahoma Albert was born on October 19, 1914 in North Morristown, Minnesota to Wilhelm (William) and Louisa (Neubauer) Pooch. He attended school I North Morristown, Minnesota. He married Laura Schultz in 1935 and farmed in the Rice County area. He moved to California in 1951 and married Phyllis Card in June, 1952. He worked for a number of years in San Francisco until his retirement. A devout Christian, he was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Grove, Oklahoma. Albert loved fishing and traveling. Albert was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Meta Steinhorst, Alma Melchert, George Poch, Herbert Poch, Paul Poch, Erna Ahlman, Madge Turley, Leona Farley and Betty Ahlman. He is survived by his wife, Phyllis; one daughter Ellinore O'Dell of Spokan, Washington, one son Delbert and his wife Donnelle Richards of Gilroy California, four grandchildren Laurie O'Dell Palmquist of Spokane Valley, Washington, Wendy O'Dell Hahn of Post Falls, Idaho, Cheryl Richards Amezquita of San Jose California and Cherisse Richards White of Morgan Hill California, seven great grandchildren, Mitchell, Caleb, Clayton, Johnny, Dakota, Raquel and Hunter, and many nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, November 24, 2007, at the Ellis Family Funeral Home Chapel, Grove, Oklahoma with Reverend Leo Schroeder officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that you make donations to the Immanuel Lutheran Church of Grove building fund, or the American Cancer Society of Grove, Oklahoma.
