Alma Chubb

Alma Beatrice "Bea" Chubb went to "Dance in the Street of Heaven" July 22, 2012. She was born July 28, 1934 to Charles Raymond and Beatrice Ellen (Gustafson) Forbes in Emporia, KS. She married Robert Gene Chubb August 30, 1952 in Pittsburg, KS. Together Bob and Bea owned and operated Pittsburg Refrigeration in Pittsburg, KS from 1962 to 1984. They moved to Grove and opened Tempy's Furniture and Carpet in 1984 and later opened Tempy's Sporting Goods in 1986. Bea loved having her yorkies with her, along with being very creative, painting, drawing, growing flowers, and entertaining family and friends. She looked forward to traveling in their motor home to spend their winters at River Bend Resort in Brownsville, TX. Bea is survived by her husband of the home, Bob in Zena, daughter Sandy McCabe and husband Larry of Zena, OK, daughter Sheri Smith and husband David, of Pittsburg, KS, son Rob Chubb and wife Lori, of Zena, OK. Grandchildren, Garett Smith, Kimberly (Smith) Hudson and husband Trey, Tiffany (McCabe) Furr and husband Jeff, Tyler Chubb and wife Kendra, Karissa Smith-Hamblin and husband Brad, and grand baby Ashley (Chubb) Johnson and husband Kaston. Great-Grandchildren, Easton Chubb, Lucas and Arianna Hudson and Noel Furr. She is also survived by her sister Mary Miller, and uncle Clifford "Gus" Gustafson. Bea was proceeded in death by her parents and two brothers Denmond Forbes and Clyde Forbes. Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life from 6:00pm to 9:00pm at Bear's Den Convention Center Tuesday, July 24th. The Bear's Den is located at 25301 Hwy 59 N, Grove, OK. The family requests that instead of flowers, please make a donation to Grove Rotary, for the new park, Grove Playmakers, or Shriners Hospital for Children.
