Catherine Spencer

Grove - Catherine Gay Spencer, age 90, died on Monday, March 16, 2009 at The Grand Lake Villa in Grove, Oklahoma. The daughter of John Harvie and Mary Jane (Molly) "Slagle" Gay was born on July 21, 1918 in Ada, Oklahoma. She was united in marriage to Coral Louis Spencer in Ada, Oklahoma who preceded her in death in 1991. Catherine was a training coordinator for a hospital in California. Catherine has been a resident of the Grove area since 2001. Catherine was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one son John D. Spencer, and two brothers John A. Gay and Royce W. Gay. She is survived by two grandchildren, one great-grandchild, one sister Georgia Shirley of Aubrey, Texas, one brother of R.C. Gay of Grove, Oklahoma and two sister-in laws Carol Gay of Amarillo, Texas, and Mildred Gay of Sulphur, Oklahoma, ten nieces and nephews and numerous great-nieces and nephews. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM on Thursday, March 19, 2009 at the Ellis Family Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, March 20, 2009 at the Rosedale Cemetery located at 231 S. Townsend Street in Ada, Oklahoma.
