Darmon Koehne

JAY - Darmon D. Koehne, age 78, passed away at his home in Jay, Oklahoma on July 18, 2008. He was born on August 27, 1929 in Oldham, South Dakota to Alvina and Carroll (Tinker) Koehne. In 1934, the family moved to Northern Minnesota where he attended school and graduated from Bagley High School in 1947. He and Kathleen (O'Malley) were united in marriage on July 12, 1950 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Darmon owned and operated a successful heating and air conditioning business for over forty years. After retiring, Darmon and Kathleen enjoyed life together on their farm in Jay, Oklahoma. Darmon was a collector and avid reader of western novels. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Kathleen Koehne; four daughters, Barbara Maynard and her husband Dale of Choctaw, Oklahoma, Kathryn Templeton and her husband Gene of Choctaw, Oklahoma, Karen Stover and her husband Lonnie of Midwest City, Oklahoma, Sandra McClain of Choctaw, Oklahoma; one sister Sharon Gardner of Princeton, Minnesota; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Darmon was preceded in death by his parents, one sister Caryl Ferguson, and one brother John Koehne. Darmon will forever be remembered in the hearts of all who loved him. His legacy of love and compassion will live eternally in all he touched. Memorial services will be held at a later date.
