Dean A. Pottier, died on Tuesday April 14, 2009 at his residence in Grove, Oklahoma, at age 86. The son of Pete and Grace (Clark) Pottier, Dean was born on August 22, 1922 in Linton, Indiana. He proudly served in the United States Army Air Corp as a Second Lieutenant Pilot from 1941 to 1945. Dean worked as a sheet metal mechanic for Hughes Aircraft in Fullerton, California, retiring after more than 35 years service. He and his wife Sharon J. (Holdridge) Pottier moved to Grove, Oklahoma in 1999. Dean enjoyed fishing, going for the elusive Grand Lake crappie, playing pool with his buddies at the Senior Citizens Center and delivering Meals-on-Wheels. He was very inventive, redesigning just about everything that passed through his hands. He often stated that he was most proud and got the most satisfaction from having raised eight wonderful children. Dean is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his loving wife Sharon Pottier and eight children: Steve Pottier of El Cerrito, California, Mary Pottier of Vancouver, BC Canada, Dennis Pottier of Wildomar, California, Nancy Smith of Seattle, Washington, Shelly Bell of Huntington Beach, California, Kelly Bell of Grove, Oklahoma, Elizabeth Wilson of Fullerton, California and Leigh Pottier of Temecula, California; and five grandchildren: Dennis Smith, Brenden Pottier, Ily Pottier, Jamie Sylvester and Evan Pottier.
