Dorothy Allen

Dorothy Mae Allen, age 85, died on August 25, 2012 in Midwest City, Oklahoma. Dorothy was the daughter of Hans and Elva Mae (Cole) Drovdahl, she was born on September 9, 1926 in Spokane, Washington. Dorothy was united in marriage to Raymond Allen in 1947. Dorothy was very involved with the church; singing in the choir was her passion, volunteering in the mission groups and with the Gospel Gals. Dorothy was also an accomplished seamstress. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her daughter Carolyn Sue Allen, and a granddaughter; Eden Balaga. Dorothy is survived by her son Bobby Allen, and his wife Christy, her daughter Barbara Shrum, and her husband Steve, six grandchildren; Heidi Avery and husband Justin, Mandi Feese and husband Justin, Courtney Shrum, Ashley Shrum, Eleasser Webster and husband Kenneth and Joseph Allen and wife Heather, and Dorothy was blessed with 13 great-grandchildren. Funeral services for Dorothy will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday August 29, 2012 at the First Christian Church in Grove, Oklahoma with Pastor Justin Avery officiating. Dorothy will be laid to rest at Olympus Cemetery in Grove, Oklahoma. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Ellis Family Funeral Home, Grove, Oklahoma.
