Helen Otto

Helen Ina (Mulford) Otto, former Grove resident, age 89, died early Monday April 11, 2011 at the Claremore Nursing Home in Claremore, Oklahoma. Helen was born on December 19, 1921 in Lynbrook, New York. She was the daughter of Charles T. and Ina (Gould) Mulford. Helen graduated high school from Lynbrook High in 1939. She was united in marriage to George Otto in 1944. Helen was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She enjoyed gardening, was an avid reader and she enjoyed spending time with her family. Helen was an active member of the First United Methodist Church during her time in Grove. Helen was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. Helen is survived by her daughter Beverly Wise and her husband Steven of Catoosa, Oklahoma, her son Alan Otto and his wife Karen of Scituate, Rhode Island, five grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, April 14, 2011 at Ft. Gibson National Cemetery in Ft. Gibson, Oklahoma with Reverend Randy Hamill officiating. Memorial donations can be made to the American Heart Association and the American Cancer Society.
