James Hamilton

James Orville Hamilton, age 90, died at his residence in Grove Oklahoma on Tuesday, August 10, 2010. The son of Charles Milton and Ruby Lee (Holiday) Hamilton, James was born on November 8, 1919 in Southwest City, Missouri. James worked in maintenance for the Wichita Public Schools. He was a member of the Church of Christ since 1955; he enjoyed playing his guitar and fiddle. James never met a stranger and would give you his last dime. James was preceded in death by his parents; one sister Irene Dee Shields; his first wife Geraldine Palmore and his second wife Flora Rucker. James is survived by his companion Jennie Dale Prater, five children Donnie Hamilton and his wife LeeAnn, Loren Hamilton, Chris Hamilton, Tami Hamilton and wife Kristi Dusenbery and Sis Short and her husband Chuck, nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren, stepchildren Joyce and Lewis Prater James is also survived by one brother Alan E. Hamilton. Viewing will be held from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. at the Ellis Family Funeral Home on Thursday, August 12, 2010. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Friday August 13, 2010 at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Hiwassee, Arkansas.
