Jerald Tanner

Jerald "Did" Lee Tanner, 62, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 10, 2016 at his home after battling a long illness. Jerry was born on March 12, 1954 at his home in rural Delaware County, Oklahoma. He graduated from Grove High School in 1972. On November 11, 1972 he married his high school sweetheart Bonnie Self. Jerry spent a majority of his life roofing around the Grand Lake area. His favorite hobbies include looking for arrowheads and raising game birds. Jerry was always making others laugh. He loved his children, his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Jerry was a member of the Butler Baptist Church. At the end of Jerry's life, he was able to help others through tissue and organ donation. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents John and Betty Jean (Morgan) Tanner, his sisters Roberta Jackson and Mary "Duis" Garner and one brother John "Doc" Tanner. Jerry is survived by his wife Bonnie Tanner of the home, daughters Regina and her husband TJ Cunningham of Grove, OK, Lisa Montag and her husband Andy of Grimes, IA. He was blessed with six grandchildren Hayden & Kayce Cunningham, Kennedy & Kale Montag, and Josie & Eli Brownfield and two great grandchildren Audrey & Kayden. Jerry is also survived by his four brothers Robert "Dis" Tanner and wife Donna and their family, Leonard J. "Short" Tanner, Bobby "Jass" Tanner and wife Teresa and their family, Rick Tanner and his wife Ann and their family, one sister Brenda "Dub" Curtis and friend Terry and their family, and many more numerous family and friends. A visitation will be held from 6PM to 8PM on Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at Ellis Family Funeral Home in Grove, Oklahoma. Services will be held at 10AM on Thursday, April 14, 2016 at Butler Baptist Church. Jerry will be laid to rest at O'Field cemetery.
