John Bechtel, Sr.

John Ervin Bechtel, Sr, 86 year old Zena resident, passed away Tuesday, March 24, 2020.  John was born in Oil City, PA on August 8, 1933.  He served in the United States Air Force.  After getting out of the service, he spent most of his working career as a truck driver.  He hauled trailers for FEMA and at one point had 9 of his own trucks running full operations.  In more recent years he ran a mowing business.  John enjoyed tinkering and visiting with people.  He never met a stranger.

Survivors include his significant other Doris Clifton, children: Patricia Teague-Cox, John E “Buzz” Bechtel, Jr., and Pam Bechtel, a great grandson Michael Teague, and 4 great great grandchildren as well as brother-in-law Don Hawthorne and wife Joyce.
