Johnnie Nichols

Johnnie L. Nichols, age 71, died December 31, 2007 at the Grand Lake Villa in Grove, Oklahoma. Johnnie was born March 11, 1936 in Checotah, Oklahoma to Clyde Lee and Reba Nichols. After graduating from high school, Johnnie proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy for six years. Then he worked as a truck driver in the civil service industry. Survivors include one daughter, Linda Kay Taylor and her husband Derrall of Sallisaw, Oklahoma, two grandsons, Clay and Cody Taylor, one brother Clark Nichols and his wife Susan of Grove, Oklahoma, four aunts, Marie, Zelma, Betty and Hazel, one Uncle Jack, two nephews Calvin and Ivan in Texas, and two nieces, Donna and Carolyn in Oklahoma. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 4, 2008 at the Fort Gibson National Cemetery in Fort Gibson, Oklahoma. Military rites will be provided by the U.S. Navy Honors Team.
