Mary Bruno

Grove - Mary "Lorene" Bruno, age 86, died at her residence on Tuesday July 21, 2009 in Grove, Oklahoma. The daughter of Harry and Eva (Mann) Lane, Lorene was born on December 6, 1922 in Arkansas. Lorene graduated high school and attended two years of Business college. She worked for 32 years as District Supervisor of Schools for the Johnson County Kansas school district. Lorene was united in marriage to Joseph T. Bruno Sr. on December 2, 1941. Joe and Lorene moved to Grove in 1988. She enjoyed all kinds of flowers, traveling, square dancing, family gatherings and was a huge fan of Elvis music. She attended the St. Elizabeth Catholic church in Grove, Oklahoma. Lorene was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband of 67 years Joseph T. Bruno, Sr., two daughters Mary Patricia Adcock of Baldwin, Kansas and Joyce T. Bruno of Paola, Kansas, one son Joseph T. Bruno, Jr. of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, Bobbi Jolene Chapman, granddaughter of Lake Quivira, Kansas, Wes Gray, grandson of Lewisville, Texas, five other grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Saturday, July 25, 2009 at the Ellis Family Funeral Home Chapel in Grove, Oklahoma with Chaplain Lonnie Sanders officiating.
