Robert Killion

Robert E. Killion was born on January 6, 1928 in Ponca City, Oklahoma to Stanley and Juanita Killion of Braman, Oklahoma and died May 16, 2011. He attended schools in Braman, Oklahoma Military Academy, Claremore, Oklahoma and graduated from the University of Oklahoma. After graduation, Bob proudly served his country in the Korean Conflict with the 45th Division and the 1st Cavalry as a Forward Observer. He was honorably discharged from; at that time, Camp Polk, Louisiana and was hired by Baroid Drilling Fluids in Houston, Texas. He serviced drilling rigs all along the Gulf Coast and in the Gulf of Mexico. After being made manager of the Gulf Coast with offices in McAllen, Texas, he was sent to Calgary, Canada to manage the Canadian Region. From there, he was moved to Rome, Italy to be Sales Manager of the European and Middle Eastern Regions. Baroid then moved their offices to London, England. Soon thereafter Bob was made Manager of the Easter Region, U.S. with office in New Orleans, Louisiana. His next position was Executive Vice President, Sale and Marketing in Houston, Texas Bob retired in 1990 and moved to Grove, Oklahoma. He was active in his church, the First United Methodist, Rotary, Grand Lake Shriners, Miami, Oklahoma and the Grove Masonic Lodge. He especially enjoyed helping the children obtain medical help through the Shriners. Bob leaves his wife of 63 years, Barbara, son Kirk and wife Donna of Grove, Daughter Kathy Lombardi and husband Kevin of Kingwood, Texas, son Kent and wife Gwen, of Prospect, Kentucky. Bob was also blessed with 10 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren and a sister Catherine Cullen. Memorial donations can be made in Bob's name to the Shrine Children's Transportation Fund, in care of G.W. Trenary, 1916 Ryan Lane, Miami, Oklahoma 74354. A special thanks to the Grove Nursing Center and the Good Shepard Hospice. Private Memorial services will be held at a later date.
