Robert "Bob" G. Madison, passed away at the Integris Grove General Hospital in Grove, OK, on Tuesday, April 16, 2013 at the age of 81. Bob was born March 8, 1932 in Kit Carson, CO, the son of the late James E. Madison and Rena (Baxter) Madison. At an early age, Bob and his family moved to the Noel, MO area where Bob graduated high school. After high school, Bob joined the United States Navy and honorably served his country for four years. After being honorably discharged from the military, Bob married Ruth Yvonne Bates on March 9, 1955 in Tulsa, OK. Bob attended Arkansas State University where he received his Bachelor's Degree in 1959. He taught school and coached basketball for a few years until he was employed by Phillips 66 in the computer programming department. Bob worked for Phillips for 22 years, retiring in the late 1980's. Bob enjoyed gardening and cooking. He was very passionate about square dancing and round dancing and was even an instructor for a time. Bob loved his family very much especially his grandkids, he will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter Jacki George; and two sisters Wanda Duncan and Glenna Ruth Madison. He is survived by his wife Yvonne of the home; two sons: Jerry Madison of Tulsa, OK and Mike Madison and his wife Dawn of Mustang, OK; five grandchildren: Adam George and his wife Kale`, Kale George, James Madison, Andrew Madison, and John Madison; three great grandchildren: Mason George, Madilynn George, and Emily George; one brother Wallace Madison wife Phyllis of Grove, OK; one son-in-law Kim George of Austin, TX; and a host of other relatives and friends. The memorial service will be held at the First Christian Church on Saturday, April 20, 2013 at 2PM with Pastor Jim Pelley, presiding. The cremation arrangements are under the direction of Ellis Funeral Home in Grove, OK.
