Stella Maxwell

Grove - Stella Maye Maxwell, age 96, died on Sunday, March 22, 2009 at the Grove Nursing Center in Grove, Oklahoma. The daughter of Elzy and Ollie Jane Brantley, was born on February 10, 1913 in Silo, Oklahoma. She attended high school in Elgin, Oklahoma. She was united in marriage to Harry Bruce Maxwell on October 15, 1933 in Porter Hill, Oklahoma. Harry preceded Stella in death in 1998. Stella enjoyed reading, sewing, cooking and was a member of the Elk River Baptist Church of Grove, Oklahoma. Stella was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. She is survived by her two sons, Jerry Bruce Maxwell of Grove, Oklahoma, and David W. Maxwell of Greenwich, Rhode Island, five grandchildren, four great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Thursday, March 26, 2009 at the Ellis Family Funeral Home Chapel in Grove, Oklahoma with Pastor Mark Hester officiating.
