Stephen Garner

Grove - Stephen Allen Garner, age 56, died on Thursday August 20, 2009 in Grove, Oklahoma. The son of James and Gertrude (Davis) Garner was born on April 9, 1953 in Hollansburg, Ohio. Steve attended and graduated high school in Ohio. He was a member of the Elks Lodge, enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing, western movies and Willie Nelson was his musician of choice. Steve loved having company, spending time with his grandchildren or just going for a ride. Stephen was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers. He is survived by his wife Cindy (On-the-Hill) Garner, one son Stevie Garner of Ohio, three step children Daniel Dentmon and Kaylee Abbott both of Grove, Oklahoma, Stephanie Abbott of Missouri, eight grandchildren; two brothers Tom Garner of Eaton, Ohio, Donnie Garner of West Manchester, Ohio, one sister Judy Stahl of New Port Richie, Florida, Grandmother Elizabeth Peterson, three Aunts Jeri On-the-hill, Barbara O'Dwyer, Mary Jo Dennis, and mother-in law Billie Meads of Grove, Oklahoma. A private family service will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Ellis Family Funeral Home in Grove, Oklahoma.
