Teddy Reynolds

Teddy Roy Reynolds, passed away at the Grove Nursing Center in Grove, OK, on Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at the age of 68. Teddy was born April 30, 1944 in Dalhart, TX, the son of the late Theodore Roosevelt Reynolds and Ora Lou (White) Reynolds. Teddy grew up in Stratford, TX where he attended school until he joined the United States Army serving for 4 years. After he was honorably discharged from the Army, Teddy rejoined but into the United States Navy this time. He served 3 tours in the Vietnam War and then made a career in the Navy serving overseas until 1983. After Teddy was honorably discharged from the military, he went to work as a mechanic in Stratford, TX and also drove a propane truck. On May 15, 1993 in Stratford, TX Teddy married Lela Chamberlain. The couple moved to the Grove area in 1997 and Teddy went to work for AutoZone. He retired from AutoZone in 2001. Teddy was also a past president of the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 878. He enjoyed working with cars and wood. He will be greatly missed by all. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brother Bobby Reynolds and Lynn R. Reynolds; and one sister Glenna Robertson. He is survived by his wife Lela Reynolds of the home; two sons: Tony Reynolds, and Lynn E. Reynolds; three daughters: Jennifer Drumm, Amber Reynolds, and Aleisha Reynolds; six grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. Graveside services will be held at the Fort Gibson National Cemetery on Monday, April 15, 2013 at 1PM with Mr. Charles Woltze, presiding. The family will greet friends from 6PM to 8PM at the Ellis Funeral Home in Grove, OK on Sunday, April 14, 2013. Arrangements are under the direction of Ellis Funeral Home, Grove, OK.
