Marion Spicer

July 2, 1924 — December 10, 2016

Marion Francis Spicer, 92, passed away on December 10, 2016 at his home in Grove, Oklahoma. He was born July 2, 1924 in Quapaw, Oklahoma to Reo Alexander and Opal Marie (Meyers) Spicer. He was a wonderful, loving, husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle and cousin. He loved his family and he loved his country. Marion loved to work on rod and reels. He worked many years at the Grand Lake Sports Center building rod and reels. He was the first Indian Guide on Grand Lake of the Cherokees. Marion was preceded in death by his parents, Reo and Opal; brothers, Harold Marlette, Paul O'dell Spicer, Harmon Spicer, Chris Spicer; sister, Genevieve Turner; nephew, Sidney Grant Schmidt; great nephew Russell (Rusty) Schmidt; great niece LeAnn Schmidt and many more. He is survived by his wife, Mary Kathryn (Silversmith) Spicer; sons, Roger David Spicer, Lawrence Alexander Spicer, Johnny O'Neal Spicer, William Spicer, Louis Spicer; daughters, Corky Worley, Kathryn Spicer West, Elizabeth Spicer Duncan; 18 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren and 12 great-great grandchildren.
